Old Story
By Amy McKnight

I’ll tell you a story that’s old
It’s been passed down, re-retold
There’s lots been lost along the way
But it’s a good story anyway

Picture a rock beside a road
That winds down to a harbour and a boat
Don’t get carried away while I sing
You see this rock was an important thing

Picture your home as a doll house
Peer in at your stuff while you’re out
Through tiny windows you’ll see
How obsessed with ourselves we can be

When you’re alone with your thoughts
You know what to do
Look inwards on yourself
And the truth looks back at you
Be honest in all that you do
And remember to enjoy doing it too

I’ll tell you a story that’s old
It’s been passed down, re-retold
There’s lots been lost along the way
But it’s a good story anyway
